Preface

This book is not a book. It is a window to another plane, another reality.

Legend has it that a long time ago, in a very distant place, there was a library that kept all the knowledge stored through times and worlds. It was full of aisles with shelves so high that the eye cannot see the end, some full and some still empty. Books appeared and disappeared, but they were always organized. It is not known with certainty how they got there, but there they were.

Not all books were made of paper. Some of the books had glass covers, others made of iron. Others were clay tablets; others, mirrors. Some were unbound, and their pages piled up on the shelf to completion. Others had no pages, but they did have the knowledge, in the water or the fire. Some allowed you to look through their pages and others took you into their history. Some were windows and let you see other places until you were almost able to touch them. Others kept objects within their pages, which you could pick up if you knew how, but none, none, leaves the library. This is the only one I have managed to get the book off its shelf so that the world knows my story.

This library had such ability because it was in a place far beyond our reach, an infinite realm with no easy access. But there is a door, a portal that leads there. The elders speak that the portal was sealed a long time ago by the seven, who gave part of their soul to make the seals and protect it.

These people understood the universe. Although not in its entirety, some of the laws that govern it. They came to have that knowledge so deep within themselves that they lived in harmony with it. Some have defied death, and now death fears them. Others have evaded it. And a few have the necessary knowledge to be able to extend their life expectancy. Some of these are doomed. Others have chosen it themselves, but only one keeps the sealss.

Only one can access it.

This is his story.

Sigil is a powerful anthology comprising of seven distinct stories, each delving into the depths of the human soul and waiting to be discovered. At its core, the book follows the transformative journey of a protagonist seeking enlightenment. However, above all, it is a compelling account of what it means to be human in the contemporary era. Through its thought-provoking narratives, Sigil offers a unique perspective on the human condition and challenges readers to reflect on their own experiences.

By integrating augmented reality, this project aims to rekindle the interest of younger generations in traditional books and remind them that there is more to a book than just its cover. Moreover, this presents an opportunity for bookstores to enhance their marketing campaigns and boost sales by leveraging AR as a promotional tool. With the ability to offer unique and immersive experiences, AR can captivate and engage audiences in new and exciting ways, driving interest in traditional reading and creating a new avenue for book promotion.

The chapter dividers are an exploration of the relationship between 3D elements and narrative in traditional books, immersing the reader in a multi-layered experience. The main character embarks on a journey through various stages of reality, attempting to decipher their destiny along the way.
